Controllable Risk Factors
High blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, smoking, obesity, physical inactivity, excessive alcohol.
Prevention Strategies
– Healthy Diet: Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, healthy fats. Limit salt, sugar, saturated/trans fats.
– Regular Exercise: 150 minutes moderate activity per week.
– Manage Blood Pressure.
– Control Diabetes.
– Lower Cholesterol.
– Quit Smoking.
– Limit Alcohol (≤2 drinks/day men, ≤1 women).
– Maintain Healthy Weight.
– Manage Stress.
– Get Regular Check-ups.
