Measuring the Impact of Stewardship

Effective stewardship programs require ongoing evaluation. Pharmacists can contribute to tracking measures such as antimicrobial consumption, prescribing patterns, treatment appropriateness, intervention acceptance, and patient outcomes.

Monitoring these indicators can help healthcare organizations identify areas for improvement and determine whether stewardship initiatives are achieving their intended goals.
